Amadou & Mariam sortiront un album de remixes le 20 décembre prochain. L’album rassemble un panel très large de remixers et de nombreuses versions inédites. Les titres sont principalement issus des deux derniers albums du duo « Dimanche à Bamako » (2006) et « Welcome to Mali » (2008). A noter le titre ‘Sabali’ remixé sur cet album par le français Vitalic , les suédois de Miike Snow ou encore avec un featuring de Théophilus London, l’artiste New Yorkais montant cette année. Parmi les titres déjà sortis notons le classique « Coulibaly » par Ashley Beedle (2005), la version featuring Akon (2006), « la Réalité » par Yuksek (2005) ou encore le plus récent « Africa Feat K’naan » remixé par Bob Sinclar (2010). Malian superstars Amadou & Mariam are about to release a thirteen-track album of remixes on December 20th. The ‘Remixes’ collection features some of their greatest singles from their best-selling albums ‘Welcome to Mali’ and ‘Dimanche à Bamako’, with several new versions, and some previously unreleased mixes, from across their catalogue. Check Damon Albarn’s produced ethereal electro pop leadoff single ‘Sabali’ new remix treatments by Swedish producers Miike Snow & French Techno maestro Vitalic. African treasures on the compilation include the township remix of ‘Ce N’est Pas Bon’ by South Africa’s DJ Aero, and a reworking of ‘Masiteladi’ by Mali’s Mo DJ. Two New York bootlegs also make their way onto the album with rising star Theophilus London’s mix of ‘Sabali’ and DJ Sabo’s ‘Artistiya’. Classics include 2005’s ‘Afrikanz on Marz mix of ‘Coulibaly’ by Ashley Beedle and the version by Akon. Several tracks from their back catalogue are featured including ‘Je Pense à Toi’ from their 1999 album ‘Sou Ni Tilé’, the track which first brought Manu Chao’s attention to the duo, and which is reworked here by DJ Alix. Amadou & Mariam will open for U2 in Johannesburg, South Africa on February 13 and Cape Town, South Africa on February 18. They’re currently working on their new album, which will feature Santigold and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner.
