Converse launches “Converse Avant-Poste” – a long-term creative initiative that celebrates emerging talent and acts as a breeding ground for the Paris-based creative community. Staged at Café Charbon, a local institution that has been attracting nocturnal Parisians for more than a century, Converse Avant Poste will feature bi-weekly music performances and quarterly art shows, all geared to support and showcase up-and-coming talent. Converse Avant Poste will open to the public at 11pm on Thursday, Sept. 12 with a live performance from Weekend Affair, an analog synth duo from Lille who merge cold-wave and post-punk nuances into their own breed of haunting electronic pop. They will be playing against the backdrop of a swirling, organic installation of new work by the visual artist Julien Colombier, whose encapsulating paintings evoke uninhabited ethereal worlds.
