Converse unveils the first in a series of updates to some of the brand’s most iconic sneakers with the debut of the Converse All Star Modern. Rooted in Converse’s rich sport history, the Converse All Star Modern is a new silhouette inspired by the Converse 1920 All Star sneaker and the brand’s heritage in basketball – streamlined with a modern design ethos and lightweight construction. The Converse All Star Modern collection includes both Hi and Ox silhouettes featuring circular knit uppers and innovative features including Nike Hyperfuse, a contoured full-length Phylon outsole, a TPU-fused overlaid toecap, plus a neoprene split tongue and lining – all together delivering lightweight comfort and clean, stylish lines. With additional sneaker drops anticipated throughout the rest of 2016, the introduction of the Converse All Star Modern begins a celebration of Converse’s deep legacy in sports, with modern updates for today’s active lifestyle consumer. To introduce the collection, Converse will also be dropping a limited-edition Converse All Star Modern HTM sneaker, designed by HTM, the creative team consisting of Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker. The sleek exterior of the All Star Modern HTM further elevates the now legendary profile of the 1920 All Star with a modern, contemporary aesthetic, complete with a premium and flexible goat leather upper, and neatly finished with a debossed All Star ankle patch and HTM logo on the heel pull tab. This release marks the first time the HTM team has designed footwear outside of the Nike brand. The Converse All Star Modern HTM sneaker is available exclusively at NikeLab retail stores worldwide and NikeLab online store, in Black and White colorways. The Converse All Star Modern sneaker collection is available at Converse retail stores, online and select retailers, in Black, Action Red, Lucid Green, Soar Blue and White colorways.
