For Spring/Summer 2016, Dr. Martens hooked up with legendary Welsh psychobilly band Demented are Go and fused two icons together, putting their album covers – Demon Teds and The Day The Earth Spat Blood / Go – on the 1460 boot. All the features of the classic 8-eye boots remain, from the yellow welt to the signature air cushioned sole. The two pairs are available now at Dr. Martens stores, online and retailers.
Demented are GoDr. MartensfootwearThe Demented are Go band was formed around 1982 in Cardiff and stood for something from the start. They were one of the earliest in the initial wave of bands to mix punk rock with rockabilly, and as a result, are considered to be highly influential to the psychobilly scene. The band has more than 70 songs from which to select a setlist. The band often claims their name originated from the phrase “Demon teds are go!” as an adaptation of the phrase “Thunderbirds are go!” from the Thunderbirds TV series, as rockabillies are known as “teds”, and psychobilly is often associated with horror.
