For the second step, the Consortium Tour made a stop in San Francisco, just in time to attend the opening of Nice Kicks new store. Their team also celebrated their 10th anniversary this year. Nice Kicks joined the trip with an innovative technique silhouette, the newly NMD Runner. While early versions of NMD adopted a minimalist style to say the least – monochrome with some touches of color – Nice Kick took the opposite of this approach. Teleporting the NMD in the psychedelic rock golden age of San Francisco, their shoe received a makeup paint stripper, making even stronger silhouette. The stem Primeknit becomes a canvas print directly inspired by the famous posters of the town concerts in the 60s. Nice Kicks softens explosive psychedelic colors, and limits to traditional red and black colors of their shop sign. With this NMD, Nice Kicks does not put only highlights some culturally key aspects of San Francisco but points to a very specific part of the city, known for its free and progressive spirit. Aside from the flashy appearance of the shoe, the “Consortium” graphical pattern of the insole, maliciously supports this reference. The adidas NMD Runner balance specifications and progressive design elements. Nice Kicks effortlessly adapts its urban contemporary aesthetic to represent their city in this Consortium tour. This Nice Kicks x adidas Consortium NMD Runner PK will be available from February 20 at adidas concept store: No42 Paris, No74 Berlin and selected Consortium retailers.
