After last years’ collaborative success on the the reinterpretation of the infamous “Polar Jacket”, U.S. military supplier Alpha Industries and basketball brand K1X are teaming up once again this winter to release two stellar components that define “The O.D. Pack”. Among them a “Nation of Hoop” rendition of Alpha Industries´ iconic MA-1 bomber jacket featuring various detachable K1X velcro patches (“offense” / “defense”) and embroideries on a contemporary slim fit. The MA-1Jacket is the classic U.S. Air Force flight Jacket of the jet age since the mid 1950s. The jacket’s lightweight “flight-nylon” ensures all-weather comfort, also affording ample protection against cold conditions. K1X´signature Anti-Gravity sneaker rounds out the O.D. injection pack. This limited edition silhouette features all performance features of the Anti-Gravity that have made it a weapon-of-choice for many basketball pros, including: dense memory foam lining for comfort and perfect fit, mesh tongue for breathability, dual density EVA midsole, and the anti-roll-over outrigger for lateral stability, as well as W.H.U.I.T.A spring pad and W.L.O.T.C. absorption cushion. Tailored with Alpha Industries’ flight-nylon upper, the on-court shoe also features a series of refinements including detachable offense/defense velcro patches and monochrome fine mold prints as well an orange insole. Both items are crafted from Alpha Industrie’s proprietary sage green flight-nylon and include a remix of the legendary red “Remove before flight” flag. The Alpha Industries x K1X “The O.D. Pack” will be available from November 21 in selected stores like Sneakersnstuff (London/Stockholm), Titolo (Zurich) and Pigalle (Paris), but also at K1X online store.
