For its 25th anniversary, the Italian retailer Slam Jam has teamed up with Vans to offer their interpretation on 3 classic silhouettes: the Vans Classic Slip-On, Sk8-Hi and Old Skool. The project’s focus is on the theme of colors. Acid, shiny, matte, psychedelic: different tones which play a lead character role rather than being just a component of the painting. The Vans Classic Slip-On is presented with a multicolored lineal canvas upper, the Sk8-Hi features a suede and canvas upper in a monochromatic combination of subdued greys resting on top of the popular gum waffle sole, when the Old Skool has a rainbow-like banding running around the model’s midsole. The 3 pairs feature a e waffle sole designed to graphically represent the shape of the underfoot in a style reminiscent to basic heat map diagrams.
