This season, Dr. Martens tribute to US hardcore punk. An underground musical movement born in Southern California in the late 70s, in response to the hippie movement. The late 70s also marked the emergence of Dr. Martens in the US. For this occasion, Dr. Martens reissues the Con-Gress boot. The Con-Gress is pure Americana, an exact reproduction of a one-of-a-kind vintage boot discovered in a thrift shop in California. True to the 1990s original, it features a paneled flag design with smooth cherry red and crackled white stripes and a cutaway white star centered on a blue toe cap. The unusual 7-Eye height tells us this was a custom creation, individualised even more by the yellow and blue laces added by the original owner. We even gave it a bit of a beating in the leather shop to replicate the original’s broken-in beauty. A gold-foil emboss on the ankle and a number-stamped tongue complete the look. This Con-Gress boot has been edited to 1460 pairs – reference to the birth date of Dr. Martens (April 1, 1960). A limited edition is available in selected Dr. Martens retailers worldwide.
