Raf Simons : an ode to the youth, for a new attractive silhouette. In the périphérique of Paris, in an industrial studio stood a high and very long catwalk encircled by guests invited to see the vertical show. Raf Simons likes performances and above all experimentation, feelings, and the perception of clothing. With dim lighting and a unique song by Deep Purple. The silhouettes shown were slimline, reinforced by the appearance of long coats and gilets, often without sleeves, on the brink of being roughly cut and frayed. Likewise with the trousers, almost too long. Or for the knitted jumpers featuring several holes and loose threads. A few overcoats took on the allure of long studio jackets but they are found again at Raf Simons with designs and writings like doodles. They are even finished by being worn like a dress close to the skin. On the contrary, the gentleman makes his appearance in a brown, straight, simple and effective coat. An ode to the youth, this experience by the designer, which he reinvents today to create a new attractive silhouette. To note: the vibrant and deep colours like this yellow, red, and the passing of several girls to foretell the development of the designer’s own line, who is without forgetting also the artistic director at Christian Dior.
