Eastpak and Jean Paul Gaultier are set to join forces once again. Following the success of this year’s edition of Eastpak Artist Studio, comes a new collaborative collection inspired by some of Jean Paul Gaultier’s most iconic catwalk pieces. Eastpak x Jean Paul Gaultier collection features 7 backpacks, including 3 limited edition and numbered. The « Pilot Backpack » limited to just 125 pieces each, both the Kaki and Nude version of this reinvented Gaultier classic evoke the designer’s unique identity and outlook. A supersonic reinterpretation of the jet pilot uniform, complete with technical lacing and Jean Paul Gaultier’s signature corsetry. The “Biker Backpack” is a natural extrapolation of the unadulterated biker spirit… Jean Paul Gaultier has recast the biker jacket in the form of a backpack, inspiring and inspired by the need to move and the desire to rebel. Featuring hand-stitched details and signature Gaultier lacing. The bomber jacket, a classic style in Jean Paul Gaultier’s collections, is reworked as a “Bomber Backpack” with all its codes intact – the nylon fabric, orange lining and rib trimming. The back is overstitched as a Bretton stripe, another Gaultier signature. The iconic jeans jacket in a recto/verso version – dark and light with overstitched pockets and button closing. All details on this “Denim Backpack” refer to the ultimate all-time favorite jacket. The Eastpak X Jean Paul Gaultier Limited Edition collection will be available from 1 February 2015 and the main collection will be released in stores on April 1, 2015. Part proceeds will go to Designers Against AIDS to help boost awareness for HIV/AIDS and bring real change to the lives of millions around the world.
