The illustrator Peter O’Toole and the famous collector Quote sneakers were met in 2005 on the Crooked Tongues forum, a meeting point of the largest sneaker fanatics. In January 2013 O’Toole brings his two passions with the series of illustrations “City Series” with 200 models of vintage adidas sneakers. The third poster was the first real collaboration between Quote and O’Toole, an illustration of 98 shoes selected by Quote from his own collection. Some time later, adidas invited the duo to create ​​a limited edition book. Once the draft of the book was finished, O’Toole and Quote saw their dreams come true: a visit to the adidas archives in Herzogenaurach and the ability to draw a model of sneakers to accompany the release of the book. The result is the adidas Originals Consortium ZX420 “Quotoole” inspired by the color palette of vintage adidas Denvers from Quote’s collection. This ZX420 features a blue suede matching with mesh in a darker blue tone, while as red on the sole and three strips added a pop side to the shoe. burgundy and purple of the tongue and the lining, and the sole cream, give a 80s vintage 80s Style. The signature of each designer is present, with their faces printed on the label “Endorsed by” under the tongue, and a pattern taking Quote logo and O’Toole font reproduced on the insole. The ZX 420 Quotoole and “Quote’s Archive” limited edition book will be available in adidas concept stores – N°42 in Paris, N°6 in London and N°74 in Berlin – and in selected adidas Consortium retailers from 15 November.
