Since 2009, the graphic designer and graffiti artist Philippe Baudeloque makes incredible creations of street art with chalk on the walls of Paris. Magnificent animals made with complex shapes consist its urban creations deliberately transitory. It is by seeing one of his works that Benoit Carpentier, founder of the brand Marchand Draper, had a fell in love with his work.
“Every season, I took a photo of one of these street works and I integrate it in my mood-board collection. Last season, I’ve realized that there was a phone number on the drawing. I contacted him, he came to our studio and he loved our products, “says Benoit Carpentier.
His work reminds geometric rhythm armor fabric on which the designer Benoit looks to build each collection. The theme of the Fall / Winter 2014 collection set – the animal rights – is represented here by the gorilla character whose brutality is matched only by the sensitivity. Philippe has suggested this work, reinterpreted faithful manner in embroidery wool yarn on a cotton cashmere sweater over a t-shirt as well as a reversible bomber cashmere and alpaca.
