After a short pause, the Stan Smith is back, better than ever . The first edition of the Consortium Stan Smith Materials Pack respected the original white and green legacy of the shoes and focused on the development of quality leathers and textures. For Spring/Summer 2014 collection, adidas has teamed up with five Asian designers for the Consortium Stan Smith Collaboration pack, each of them bringing his unique point of view on the iconic sneaker. Shigeki Fujishiro, product designer based in Tokyo, expressed his fascination for spatial relations in this particular design, Stan Smith PLAY. While the leather trim keeps a minimalist white, colored bands were woven to create a graphic shapes on each side of the shoe, integrating the perforated 3-Stripes from the original silhouette. The tongue is emblazoned with the “Endorsed by Stan Smith” logo in a tonal grey glossy stamp, while “STAN SMITH PLAY” sits along the side panel. The adidas Consortium Stan Smith “PLAY” pack will be available in limited quantities at No.42 Paris, No.6 London, No.74 Berlin and select Consortium retailers beginning March 8.
