the design house By Khol is fruit of the union of a particularly complementary duo, Khim Asriel and Olivier Ossipoff. Two associates from different professional backgrounds – one specialises in beauty and design, the other in strategic anagement – have joined forces to bring us their very first creation. With a shared passion for the aestheticism of shapes, the olfactory universe and the nobility of materials, these two epicureans have chosen the candle as their initial working medium, intent on stimulating our emotion by overturning its traditional codes. The “Kartomancie” collection is the product of a reinterpretation of the form and meaning of the mythical fortune-telling Tarot cards. The Lover, the Star, the World, the Empress and even the Devil are reincarnated through the Object. The strongly coloured hand drawings contribute to the sense of magic, revealing the characters from the allegorical cards. The key idea : to create a visual, olfactory and tangible emotion through the Object, as if rediscovering a simple, primitive instinct.
