For Spring/Summer 2014, denim brand G-Star RAW introduces the unexpected combination of chess champion Magnus Carlsen, and model Lilly Cole. Magnus Carlsen already caused a stir, when Anton Corbijn captured him in the AW10 campaign. Heads will turn again when Carlsen now fronts the S/S14 campaign alongside Lily Cole, admired by G-Star for her unconventional beauty and passion for the arts and sustainability. Famous for his uncompromising and strong style of play, Carlsen is currently the world’s top ranking chess player. Carlsen was grandmaster at the age of 13, and won the title of World Chess Champion in November 2013. Comparable to Carlsen, Cole’s career also started at a young age. Defying the expected, Cole faced the cover of British Vogue at 16. While studying art history, she has since starred in various films, launched a successful ‘giving initiative’ and campaigned for environmental sustainability.
