For Spring/Summer 2014, Ben Sherman has inspired by the skeletal frame of a parachute. This geometric pattern is the inspiration for The Parachute Collection. At the core of the collection is a considered choice of fabric. A developed nylon integrates the classic Ben Sherman check, adapting itself to the overlay for shirts, jackets and blazers. Taking direct inspiration from the parachute concept, the technical parka coat comes with a peaked hood and padded, removable inner-jacket – making the staple outerwear practical and trans-seasonal. Knitwear has been crafted in compact mercerized cotton and crew neck jumpers display a sand formation print. A rucksack with leather harness belts allows the accessories to echo elements of the parachute’s framework. Solid block colours evolve into iridescent hues, as an illustrated parachutist print makes its way on to polo tops and shorts. Hard graphite shades move in to stark optic whites as sunset colours and a nautical navy set the tone for the seasonal colour palette.
