After the first preview pictures, here is the lookbook of the collaboration between the cyclist Bradley Wiggins and Fred Perry for the Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Characteristically referencing 1960s style and design, the Autumn Winter 2013 Bradley Wiggins for Fred Perry collection sees both new and reworked favourites offered in vintage inspired patterns and colours. Refined and streamlined silhouettes incorporate functional design details with a nod to cycling jerseys of the past – zipped rear pockets, scooped hems, quarter zip neck fastenings. Key pieces for the season include the timeless packaway Jacket crafted in a lightweight nylon ripstop and the classic short sleeved shirt released in vintage inspired mustard yellow, paying homage to Wiggin’s Tour win. In the collection, a mix of vintage inspired colour combinations take influence from classic cycling jerseys and the Fred Perry archive. Rich maroon and privet green are softened with hues of blue, whilst distinctly British mustard yellow is offset with French Navy, reminiscent of cycling’s roots. Traditionally colour blocking techniques were used for easy recognition, to identify the riders as they rode away into the distance; the nostalgic colour combinations evocative of the legends of the 1950s and 60s – often referred to as the Golden Age of cycling. This collection will be available in Fred Perry online store now and in August at Fred Perry retailers.
