It is said that in the west, there is nothing new … This is wrong! 55DSL has drawn inspiration for its Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Caught in a crazy dust-up of cowboys and desert roses, lawless bandits and badass Spaghetti Westerns, this collection tells the tale of wandering anti-heroes and street-smart vagabonds. Guys will channel their inner “Spaghetti Western” with cowboy-inspired detailing, washed eco leather and camouflage patterns in a muted palette of earthy tones with pops of orange and yellow. Indigo-dyed fabrics mimic the hard labour of working on the railroad, while modern accents shine through in metallic effects, vintage-inspired washed prints, and toned-down coloured denim. Fabrics like waffle jersey, over-dyed cotton twill, rubbercoated cotton canvas, and waterproof wool and nylon mixes are as tough as nails. They can get the full cowboy effect with the Parinnes, a chino with a detailed back pocket and a large add-on pocket attached to the back belt, the Jonn, a eco-friendly leather hooded jacket and the reversible, padded Flintt shirt. East meets West in the Sefamal Western detailed shirt with Mandarin collar, while the Tulture t-shirt graphic depicts a sketch of an eagle and a cactus in a desert landscape on a sketchy camo backdrop. And they’ll mix easy style with hard labour in the dip-dyed check print of the Stendard, Shoto’s all-over photo print, the Western-detailed Fiango zip sweatshirt and the pinstriped indigo Poldrush worker pants. The varsity jacket with ecofriendly leather sleeves and the two shirts to match deserve a gold star. And just as every cowboy has a horse, so does this collection have an arsenal of accessories. Whether it’s a Western infantry-inspired visor, worker gloves or a goldrush, he’ll be charging out of the style stables at full speed.
