The new Jean-Paul Gaultier collection, has been presented in a red neon light atmosphere, that called to mind the windows of Amsterdam’s red-light district. It wasn’t, strictly speaking, a runway. The models came out from behind a curtain and began stripping some pieces of their outfits. The collection was more classical than usually with tailor suits outfits in different shapes. Some pieces were, of course, in the old Jean-Paul Gaultier style : half jackets, shirts cropped to the rib cage, turtleneck dickeys… etc. There were some beautiful pieces, a tailor suit all knitted, and several pullovers with geometrical patterns. The color range is seasonal, from grey to black and navy-blue with little strokes of red and beige. The collection is more structured than usual but may lack of the touch of madness which makes the genius of Jean-Paul Gaultier.
