We were invited to a press day in Nantes as part of the collaboration between Toshiba and Atelier Saint-Loup. It is in glorious sunshine as we headed into the small paved impasse located in the heart of Nantes. We pushed the door of the workshop, a former renovated paint factory, where Isabelle Pierrès the designer and her partner Michel Le Page, a graphic designer and illustrator, were waiting for us. L’Atelier Saint-Loup is a brand of leather goods that offers a range of customized products for men and women at very reasonable prices. The leathers comes from a dealer in the area that offers skins that are outputs of the sale’s channel (end of series, unused skins from luxury brands…). This feature allows them to offer high quality skins at very affordable prices and also to always offer new and different leathers. All parts of the goods are made in the workshop by themselves and with the help of a leather seamstress. They are always attentive to the specific demands of customers and can even hot stamping each leather piece with your name. This adventure started very modestly with Isabelle Pierrès who, discovering the leather skins dealer, began to make some goods for her and her friends, and then gradually by word of mouth she had increased orders and decided to move up. Our visit to the workshop was also an opportunity to discover their latest collaboration with Toshiba. On the occasion of the release of the Satellite U920t the latest laptop from Toshiba. L’Atelier Saint-Loup made a case specially designed to welcome and embellish it. Several models are available in different colors and materials at a special price of 137€. You can also order it in the colors and materials that you like or at the size of your computer. Feel free to visit their website and follow their Facebook fan page to get their news.
