The John Lobb Aviator boots immediately send us in to the world of the Kenyan foothills and the film “Out of Africa”. The original model was hand-crafted in a full brown leather by the John Lobb workshop for an officer in the French airforce, some time between the first and the second world wars. The boot itself is a supple-grained leather combined with a beige cotton canvas. Being a bespoke shoe the thick leather sole is then hand-welted inside a channel lip, leaving the welt protected by the leather and entirely invisible.
