On the occasion of its 50th birthday, Ben Sherman has collaborated with Janette Beckman, a celebrated music photographer who has played a key role in documenting musical movements and subcultures since the 1970s. The result of this collaboration is a limited edition collection of 5 t-shirts incorporating iconic images of Janette Beckma symbolizing the English culture with the portrait of Chuka and Dubem Okonkwo, the enigmatic style icons known as the “Islington Twins”, a rare onstage photograph of Levi Rockat, Teddy Boy icon and frontman of one of the great 80s Rockabilly groups, Levi and the Rockats, the rapturous crowd at a legendary moment in Mod history: The Jam’s final gig in 1982, a rare photograph of young Coventry punks in a street phone box and an iconic image, shot in 1981 at Loch Lomond, of a fan enjoying that most British of musical events – a mud-drenched festival. Some of these feature photos have been published in the first issue of the famous British magazine The Face. This collection of t-shirts are available in black or white now at Ben Sherman shops and their eshop. 25% from every sale will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
