Spring/Summer 2013 sees Edwin Europe collaborate with Parisian workshop Blitz Motorcycle to create a collusion of minds and aesthetics as a continuation and manifestation of a pre-existing camaraderie. From product support, to film projects and good times spent together in the seats of their machines, the beginnings of a collection of pieces made by Edwin, specifically for Blitz was born. The collection is non-seasonal, and non-trend led. It is a study into the intuitive nature of denim and the pre-requisites placed upon clothing used by those who live, work, and thrive alongside their bikes. Both Fred Jourden et Hugo Jezegabel, founders of Blitz, have specific daily routines that impose definite requirements on their garments that demand versatility and durability as core principles. Using Premium Japanese denim exclusively spun for Edwin Europe, the pieces have been cut to incorporate subtle functional details, such as black dyed pocket bags to aid in the concealment of oil stains from your hands, and military herringbone fabric reinforcements at stress points. This purist approach to design is reflective of both Edwin and Blitz’s commitment to creating classic, non -elitist product that includes granite red listed selvage, woven blanket linings, Italian irregular light slub cotton t-shirts and heavy weight American fleece jersey to create a collection that is representative of the friendship between Edwin and Blitz that will be an ongoing seasonal line.
