After working the mesh at Balmain and Hermes, Garance Broca launched Mr. Lacenaire in 2011. Since then, Monsieur Lacenaire distilled at each season always inventive knitwear collection. As usual, the Fall/Winter 2012 collection is made in Peru and in France. For the Peruvian line, you’ll find the iconic varsity jacket knitted in alpaca in new colors. You’ll also find a knitted duffle coat in alpaca with an engraved whistle to wake up the city mermaids. Then, we also did a very elegant shawl neck jumper in baby alpaca. The French line is made of two parts. The first, Parisian Fair Isle, is a mix between the ancestral knowledge in jacquard of the tiny island Fair Isle, and Hector uimard’s work that you can find in Paris. It’s about colorful and warm jacquards where patterns dance and elegantly become entangled. The second line, Block Color, is more minimalistic. Knitted with two different stitches, the top of the jumper hides fine details. These jumpers are knitted in France. Monsieur Lacenaire used Foam wool made from the very light merino quality. It has both a rough and soft touch, like a man’s heart.
