adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams are back for Spring/Summer 2016 with a collection of shoes and clothing inspired by the energy and colors of the islands. Called “Pink Beach”, this collection Consortium + featurie a wild explosion of riotous colour and swirling graphics of flowers, hearts, suns, peace signs, and various blissed-out slogans. These graphics are alternately printed and embroidered, giving the pieces a premium handmade quality. The Printed Blouson is a sport jacket banded at the wrists and waist and embroidered on its back with the code 528HZ, a frequency believed to create healing vibrations for the mind, body, and spirit. Meanwhile, the Embroidery Shirt and Short boast fully embroidered graphics on crisp olive cotton—a fresh canvas for Williams’ bold creativity. Williams’ footwear designs offer chic, comfortable styles that speak directly to his island inspiration. The Elastic Slip On and Elastic Lace Up boast stretch patched-tape uppers and moulded nubuck heels. Both silhouettes come in a crisp white and a colourful variegated-stripe option with two sets of laces to each pair. All shoes include hyper-colour liners featuring psychedelic anatomical drawings of the human foot—a singular Williams touch that speaks to his imagination and creative spirit. The first delivery will be available from May 5 followed by a second scheduled for May 12 and will consist of a full wardrobe for adults and kids alike bearing Williams’ illustrated icons. This includes bikinis, tanks, tees, culottes, shorts, leggings, and a stunning Artist Poncho fashioned from water-resistant laminated mesh emblazoned with the iconic adidas three-stripe motif, alongside tees, shorts, jackets and tanks in kids sizes, all garments are endowed with the artist’s uniquely playful and vibrant aesthetic.
